How to Digitise 15 Million Press Photos: The STERN Photo Archive at the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek

In 2019, the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (Bavarian State Library) took over analogue archive of weekly magazine stern. Digitising its 15 million pictures poses challenges in terms logistics, process management and indexing that go beyond traditional librarian methods. order to make digitally available public, is exploring new ways organising digitisation workflows indexing. The article describes inherent special nature points out which library currently addressing them.
